CM: Milan determined to win the race for Frattesi after Thuram blow – the latest

After missing out on Marcus Thuram to Inter, AC Milan now want to steal Davide Frattesi from under their rivals’ noses but the midfielder has already made a decision.

According to a report from Calciomercato.com, it is Juventus, Inter and Milan who are competing for Frattesi and Sandro Tonali’s imminent sale to Newcastle United could overhaul the pre-established hierarchies.

Juventus are not totally out of the race but they cannot offer Champions League football and perhaps not even the Conference League because there is still a pending dispute with UEFA, but it is not necessarily a fundamental factor.

The former Monza man has declared that he wants to play in a three-man midfield and it is for this reason that Inter – who moved before everyone else – are currently ahead in the race.

However, Milan consider him the ideal replacement after Tonali’s departure and will soon have the necessary liquidity to potentially pay the asking price, and Frattesi himself admitted that he could listen to offers other than Inter’s.

Inter are waiting for the sale Marcelo Brozovic to Saudi Arabia (or elsewhere) to then try and finally get the deal for Frattesi over the line, while Milan hope that their ability to move quicker and more concretely is enough.
