CM: Milan determined to win the race for Frattesi after Thuram blow – the latest

After missing out on Marcus Thuram to Inter, AC Milan now want to steal Davide Frattesi from under their rivals’ noses but the midfielder has already made a decision.

According to a report from Calciomercato.com, it is Juventus, Inter and Milan who are competing for Frattesi and Sandro Tonali’s imminent sale to Newcastle United could overhaul the pre-established hierarchies.

Juventus are not totally out of the race but they cannot offer Champions League football and perhaps not even the Conference League because there is still a pending dispute with UEFA, but it is not necessarily a fundamental factor.

The former Monza man has declared that he wants to play in a three-man midfield and it is for this reason that Inter – who moved before everyone else – are currently ahead in the race.

However, Milan consider him the ideal replacement after Tonali’s departure and will soon have the necessary liquidity to potentially pay the asking price, and Frattesi himself admitted that he could listen to offers other than Inter’s.

Inter are waiting for the sale Marcelo Brozovic to Saudi Arabia (or elsewhere) to then try and finally get the deal for Frattesi over the line, while Milan hope that their ability to move quicker and more concretely is enough.

  1. I would be surprised if he doesn’t join Inter.

A waste of time (if Milan have engaged with Sassuolo which is far away from being certain based on Sassuolo’s CEO)

  2. I think he also wants to play with Barella at club level as well, I saw him say that about 3-4 months ago in an interview. I’m sure he isn’t looking at Krunic/Pobega and thinking, yeah, I want to go there. Probably won’t happen.

    1. Because even without Maldini, the club apparently has a certain appeal… A very reliable source has told us that so it must be true. 😀

  3. CM, get over it already.
It’s simple: if we’ve heard of the player, Milan is probably not interested.
The new strategy is based on the premise that they’re smarter than everyone else and they can identify good players where no one else can see them.
Take that dude from AZ, he’s 24 already, no caps for the national team, not even U21. Big clubs from his country are not interested, nobody is. But apparentely he is the one that can give us the ‘leap in quality’.

  4. To be honest, inter milan is currently more attractive than us at the moment for someone who wants to win trophies immediately, sad reality, ac milan currently is like a headless chicken, manager pioli is not even as active as what managers in england normally do, LOL
