CM: Milan decide against free agent signing – the defenders being monitored

It doesn’t rain but it pours on the injury front for AC Milan and they now have only one fit senior centre-back available following the hamstring injury sustained by Malick Thiaw.

Calciomercato.com report that Thiaw is at risk of a long lay-off because of the extent of the muscle problem he has and given that Marco Pellegrino and Pierre Kalulu are also out until the new year, there is a real emergency at the back.

Milan will not go on the free agent market to try and fix the problem before the January window, the report states. Jan-Carlo Simic will be promoted to the first team from the Primavera and then internal solutions will be sought game by game.

The Rossoneri management are working on potential names for the January transfer window and the idea is to try to get Jakub Kiwior on loan from Arsenal, which is difficult but not impossible at the moment.

The names of Benoit Badiashile (Chelsea), Konstantinos Kourielakis (PAOK) and Maxime Estevè (Montpellier) also remain. Lloyd Kelly, however, will not leave Bournemouth in January.

Next weekend Milan scouts will be on scene in France looking for new profiles to include in this list.
