CM: Milan hoping to raise €6-7m from sale of defender who will return after relegation

The fate of Andrea Conti now appears to be completely up in the air as Parma have failed to avoid relegation to Serie B, a report claims.

As Calciomercato.com report, Milan are waiting to see what will happen with Mattia Caldara and Diego Laxalt, on loan at Atalanta and Celtic respectively, but they know that Conti will be returning once his loan spell is over.

Conti moved to Parma in the January window on a six-month loan with an obligation to buy in case they avoided the drop, a scenario that is no longer possible after the official relegation of D’Aversa’s team. The former Atalanta man – who left Milan after three and a half years – would have generated €7m if he departed permanently.

His future at Milan now remains uncertain as head coach Stefano Pioli has long shown that he prefers Davide Calabria and Pierre Kalulu at the right-back position. The most probable hypothesis at the moment is therefore a permanent sale, especially since his contract expires in June 2022 and there seems to be no room for a renewal. The Rossoneri club hopes to make €6-7m from the sale, but it will be tough.
