CM: Milan working to sign Marseille star with €35m market value in cut-price January deal

AC Milan are monitoring potential signings to bolster the squad and one area they are looking at is the midfield, according to a report.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are looking ahead to the African Cup of Nations in January when they will lose midfield duo Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessié for at least a month, with their respective nations of Algeria and the Ivory Coast expected to go deep into the tournament.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, Maldini and his staff are working to sign Boubacar Kamara from Marseille when the window reopens in January. The player’s contract expires in June 2022 and he has rejected the renewal proposals he has received. The Ligue 1 club – in order not to lose him for a free transfer – are willing to sell Kamaara for a small economic compensation.

Kamara can play either as a defensive midfielder or as a centre-back if needed and has made 133 appearances for Marseille despite being just 21, and his market value as per Transfermarkt is €35m.
