As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, Thiaw is a player who has caught many at Milan by surprise and he now holds a high status in the squad.
Having arrived last summer with very little fanfare, the German defender who cost Milan €8.6m could now be worth around €20m. Despite that, Milan would want a figure closer to €30m if they were to let him leave.
There is no suggestion that Thiaw wants to leave or that any club is about to bid for him, but one more season of impressive performances could lead some big teams to take notice.
He appears to be above Simon Kjaer in the hierarchy at the back and could even be ahead of Pierre Kalulu.
