CM: Pioli views Thiaw as untouchable and Milan now value him at €30m

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan and Stefano Pioli view Malick Thiaw as a vital part o the squad who would need to be subject to a bid of around €30 million if he were to leave, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, Thiaw is a player who has caught many at Milan by surprise and he now holds a high status in the squad.

Having arrived last summer with very little fanfare, the German defender who cost Milan €8.6m could now be worth around €20m. Despite that, Milan would want a figure closer to €30m if they were to let him leave.

There is no suggestion that Thiaw wants to leave or that any club is about to bid for him, but one more season of impressive performances could lead some big teams to take notice.

He appears to be above Simon Kjaer in the hierarchy at the back and could even be ahead of Pierre Kalulu.

    1. Let’s slow down with the comparisons. He has played well, but I think his best performances were in a 3-men defense. He still looked a bit shaky at times in a 2 men defense, though to his defense, all our defenders looked a bit shaky at times.

In any case, this year will show his potential. Playing games every 3 days really tests your concentration and preparation. I recall, Kalulu played great for the second half of the season, followed by a solid 1-2 months in the new season before he started degrading.

  1. If only Tomori performed against Chelsea and Inter when the english teams where watching. Then one of the prem teams would come high bid for him.

    1. Lol what?

You’re going to invoke Berlusconi’s name here when he sold Thiago Silva, Ibrahimovic, Kaka and so many others?

      1. Berlusconi’s is third most important person in milan history show some respect kid . milan berlusconi was the greatest team to ever exist .

        1. You think this team is a selling one now when we lost so many more. And yeah thanks Berlusconi for the banter era with Kevin Constant, Djamel Mesbah, Fabio Borini and so many others.

    2. Selling one player tonali with 70m euro and already called selling club. Or do you want to keep rebic ,origi , junior, saladmaker, cdk, ballo toure ? Dude if according to your comment then all italian club are selling club even juve sell their key player , IM sell key player for pay debt . You live on the past where there is no FFP that prevent owner inject their own money to club , wake up and accept reality

  2. What’s the point of this article? Calciomercato talking about air again..
Really mustn’t open CM articles 🙄

  3. Tbh, i would like for Tomori to be sold, even though he was really good in previous seasons, but i can see someone like united paying like 50mil for him or even more. Getting someone for around 25mil to be compatriot of thiaw and play kalulu as rb could honestly be great for us.

  4. TY Maldini for finding another gem. Or was it Moncada? Oh ya Moncada only finds the good ones and the bad ones were all Maldini’s fault? Sound logic indeed
