CM: Two stand-outs and four flops from Milan’s defeat against Barcelona

AC Milan’s time in the United States of America has come to an end and it concluded with a disappointing defeat against La Liga champions Barcelona.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri did not put in their greatest display and cannot argue with the 1-0 defeat, the goal coming in the second half from Ansu Fati.

There were two players who impressed for Stefano Pioli’s side. One was Tijjani Reijnders, who showed off the many facets of his midfield play for the 70 minutes he was on the pitch.

The other is Rafael Leao, who is not yet fully fit, but still made some devastating runs into the box which should have led to goals.

Fikayo Tomori, Alessandro Florenzi, Theo Hernandez and Ruben Loftus-Cheek all struggled to show their best against Barcelona. Tomori was easy to dribble past, whilst Florenzi was nowhere near tight enough to Fati for the goal.

It was a mistake-riddled game for Hernandez, whilst Loftus-Cheek was not on the same wavelength as his teammates.
