CM: Senior debut, contract and foreign interest – three questions on Camarda answered

There is a lot of buzz surrounding Francesco Camarda as he continues to score goals at a rapid rate for AC Milan’s Primavera side, and a report has answered some of the main questions surrounding him.

Calciomercato.com have published an article which tackles three of the things fans are asking. First, why can he not make his Serie A debut as soon as this season. Secondly, why does he not have a professional or long-term contract. Thirdly, would Milan consider selling him given there are many European clubs interested in him?

In answer to the first question, a Serie A debut cannot be ruled out this season but we must remember that Camarda is only 15 years old and is already playing with and against players four years older than him.

Regarding a professional contract, he does not have one yet because he will turn 16 on March 10 of next year. Only upon reaching the age of 16 will it be possible to stipulate a professional deal with a maximum duration of three years. There is no possibility of binding the player with pre-contractual agreements of any kind, and only when he turns 18 can a five-year deal be penned.

Finally, Milan do not have any intention of selling such a talented player but if they don’t secure him with a contract the player could be tempted by joining a European club on a free that would offer him big money and an ambitious project. In that case, the club that signed him would pay only the compensation that FIFA stipulate as a development fee to Milan.
