CM: Morata and Abraham ‘not enough’ – the three reasons Gimenez could join Milan

AC Milan decided to sign two strikers in the summer as Alvaro Morata and Tammy Abraham arrived, yet the directors are already beginning to think about another addition for next summer.

As Calciomercato.com report, Morata has immediately given positive signs in terms of his leadership and his experience more so than his goalscoring form, but Milan feel they still need a young, physical striker who knows how to score plenty.

Abraham seems to tick those boxes, but the Englishman’s future will depend on his performances in the coming months and the Rossoneri cannot remain focused only on him, which is why discussions with intermediaries and agents are still continuing.

Santiago Gimenez of Feyenoord and Mexico is certainly the most concrete objective because contacts have been ongoing for months now. Milan, according to what the player recently declared in an interview, even tried to buy him in the very last days of the last summer window.

There is a strong and positive feeling between the parties, meaning that the 23-year-old is an option to take into great consideration. Not only that, but there are three factors that actually work in Milan’s favour.

Firstly there is the fact that Gimenez would be very open to the move as he himself admitted. Secondly, his €50m release clause could be negotiated down to €40m plus bonuses. Thirdly, the competition from Spurs seems to have vanished because they decided to invest heavily in Solanke.
