CNN heaps praise on timeless Ibrahimovic: “He is like Tom Brady and Serena Williams”

Zlatan’s Ibrahimovic scored his 500 and 501st club career goals against Crotone in Milan’s 4-0 win at San Siro, which served as a testament of the Swede’s age-defying goal scoring run.

The forward has experienced unprecedented success on the club-football stage with his exploits in each of the top five leagues, except the Bundesliga. He has represented Malmo FF (18), AFC Ajax (48), Juventus (26), Inter Milan (66), FC Barcelona (22), Paris Saint-Germain (156), Manchester United (29), LA Galaxy (53) & AC Milan (83), – scoring 501 goals in 825 appearances across all competitions.

Now, American news network, CNN have outwardly praised the Swede’s ridiculous records, leading them to compare him to the likes of other sporting legends: “He is like Tom Brady and Serena Williams”. (via MilanNews)

Both veterans, Tom Brady (43) and Serena Williams (39) are on the top of their respective talents – role models in American football and tennis respectively.

Now, 39-year-old Ibrahimovic is shaking things up in a role few would have predicted him to undertake with such great leadership. His brace against Crotone took him to 14 goals, two behind Serie A’s top goal scorer Cristiano Ronaldo.

The veteran striker is now enjoying one of his most prolific league seasons – scoring 14 goals in 11 caps and gaining one assist in the process. With the likes of Donnarumma, Calhanoglu, Ante Rebic, Brahim Diaz and of course Zlatan, among many others, Milan are in real contention to win the club’s first Scudetto in a decade.
