CorSera: Donnarumma renewal rests on release clause – Raiola wants a max of €30m

The agent of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is shooting for a low release clause to be inserted into his client’s new deal, a report claims.

The dilemma that the Rossoneri face regarding the future of the 21-year-old has been well documented. His deal runs until 2021, meaning the club must either agree a renewal soon or consider selling so as to avoid the risk of losing a prized asset on a free transfer next year, even if that appears unlikely at present.

According to Wednesday’s edition of il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), Milan will turn their attentions to Donnarumma’s situation once they have secured the renewal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The paper claims that the negotiations for Donnarumma’s renewal will be centred around a potential release clause. In exchange for an extension until 2023, his agent Mino Raiola wants a clause inserting into the deal which means he could leave for €30million, possibly if certain objectives are not met by the club.
