The Rossoneri made it six wins in eight games since the return of Serie A on Saturday night, thrashing Bologna 5-1 in a game where they could have scored double figures.

According to il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), a hypothesis is beginning to take shape whereby Pioli stays on as head coach after all despite all the rumours about Ralf Rangnick’s arrival.

The chosen one is Rangnick, this is a certainty, but in recent days – according sources close to the club – no decision on the coach will be made before the end of the season. As mentioned, the German remains the number one candidate, but Pioli’s chances of staying have also increased after an incredible last month.

The new season will begin on September 12th, so the time for a revolution is shorter than normal. That’s why Elliott are now thinking about what to do.

An alternative solution is taking shape: the coach being Pioli and technical director Rangnick, at least for the first year.
