CorSera: The two players who will ‘lead’ Stefano Pioli’s Milan side

Lucas Biglia can become the leader that Milan have been lacking this season on and off the pitch, according to a report.

So far, the Argentine has found himself alternated with summer signing Ismael Bennacer in the regista position, with both having played around 270 minutes this season.

However, the sacking of Marco Giampaolo and appointment of Pioli as the club’s new head coach is likely to help Biglia’s case given that the pair worked together at Lazio.

La Gazzetta dello Sport even reported on Tuesday that the 33-year-old has once again become ‘central’ to Milan’s plans and looks set to play a big role.

According to il Corriere della Sera – as cited by MilanNews.it – Pioli believe that Biglia can help fill the current void at the Rossoneri which is the lack of a leader.

Biglia was the captain of his Lazio side from 2015 onwards, and will be a key factor in helping him establish stability and continuity at his new club.

A report from the same outlet adds that Rafael Leao is a player that Pioli really likes, and therefore the Portuguese starlet is also expected to be a foundation of his side.
