CorSport: Chelsea, Real Madrid handed blow as Milan star wants to stay – the details

In spite of everything, Gianluigi Donnarumma is convinced that he will remain at AC Milan for next season as well. Meanwhile, the Rossoneri are working to find the best possible solution to the matter.

According to today’s edition of Corriere Dello Sport (via Milanlive.it), the goalkeeper is in no hurry to leave. He’s emotionally linked to the club, the city and thus his priority remains the renewal.

However, there is still a big obstacle to overcome. Donnarumma currently earns €6m per year, which is twice as much as the new salary cap that Elliott want to impose at the club: max €2.5m-€3m per player per year.

The most suitable solution, perhaps, could be to renew the contract which the same figures and then try to sell him next summer, when the market won’t be as affected by the Coronavirus crisis.

Per the newspaper, the likes of Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have already probed the ground with Mino Raiola, closely monitoring the situation. The same goes for Juventus.
