CorSport: Milan will attempt to convince Bakayoko to return early to Chelsea

Tiemoue Bakayoko was brought in on a two-year loan by AC Milan last summer but it hasn’t exactly gone as planned. The midfielder has failed to impress and he could leave earlier than expected.

The Frenchman still has one year left on his loan at Milan and he wants to fight for a spot in the starting XI. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara, on the other hand, have other ideas for the midfield department and that makes a departure likely.

As things stand, Stefano Pioli has Ismael Bennacer, Sandro Tonali, Rade Krunic, Tommaso Pobega and Yacine Adli ahead of Bakayoko in the pecking order. Not just because of the Chelsea man’s qualities, but also the fact that he isn’t part of Milan’s plans.

According to today’s edition of Corriere Dello Sport, as cited by MilanNews, Milan could soon attempt to convince Bakayoko to return early to Chelsea. Of course, there would have to be a new destination already lined up.

The matter would become even more relevant in the event of a midfield signing, which is expected before the end of the transfer window.
