It is not yet known whether Milan will play in the next edition of the Champions League but what seems certain is that there will be a lot of traffic around Casa Milan this summer.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) this morning, it is essential for Milan to sign a player who can score 20 goals or more per season, something that has been missing pretty much since Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s first season at the club.
Olivier Giroud has renewed but will turn 37 this year, while Ante Rebic and Divock Origi have not lived up to expectations and could leave, while Ibrahimovic is now 41 and seems destined to either retire or depart.
In terms of signings, Roberto Firmino was offered to Milan as well as many other clubs. The Brazilian centre-forward will leave Liverpool on a free transfer at the end of the season, at 31 years old and with lots of experience in big games.
Another name that remains alive is that of Alvaro Morata, another experienced forward who knows Italian football well and his contract with Atletico Madrid expires in 2024 which would mean the transfer fee involved is not too high.
In other areas, Milan seem to be one of the teams in pole position to get the Japanese playmaker Daichi Kamada, who will leave Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer. The 26-year-old would be flexible low-cost addition to the Rossoneri midfield, which will be without Bennacer for quite a while.
For the midfield, Ruben Loftus-Cheek is a profile that the management admire and he looks destined to leave Chelsea at the end of the season.
A new deputy to Theo Hernandez will be sought with Pasquale Mazzocchi and Fabiano Parisi on the list, while Allan Saint-Maximin could come back into fashion as an option for the wing.
