Speculation has been mounting suggesting that AC Milan have a concrete interest in signing playmaker Daichi Kamada on a free transfer.
According to today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan), Kamada is indeed a transfer target for both Milan and Napoli. He is currently playing at Eintracht Frankfurt but will leave the German club at the end of the season when his deal expires, meaning he is available on a free transfer.
Both Serie A sides are keen on convincing him to try a new experience in Italy, but the Rossoneri seem to be ahead at the moment. The salary ceiling imposed by Aurelio De Laurentiis is a maximum of €3.5m net per season per player, and the Japan international wants more.
There is talk of a salary request that fluctuates between €4-5m net per year, which is why Napoli seem to have turned to Atalanta playmaker Teun Koopmeiners, who is a realistic target even if their sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli leaves for Juventus.
There are even some sources speaking of a verbal agreement with Kamada, who has 15 goals and 6 assists in 44 games across the Bundesliga, Champions League, European Super Cup and German Cup this season.
