According to what Calciomercato.com are reporting, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have raised the offer to €32m fixed plus €3m bonuses. The Belgian club – which until yesterday was asking for €35m guaranteed – now seem to be ready to change their minds and accept the Rossoneri’s proposal.
The deal should therefore close between today and tomorrow and Stefano Pioli – who will return to Italy with the team tonight after the friendly against Wolfsberger – could have the Belgian at his disposal from Friday.
It comes after were reported yesterday that Maldini and Massara were expected to speak to CEO Ivan Gazidis in order to update the owners Elliott Management and ask for a possible further economic effort to conclude the deal, and it seems it has been forthcoming.
