In recent years, the ambitions of Milan have constantly changed. From just getting into the top four to fighting for the Scudetto and back, it’s been a wave of expectations. Unfortunately, the Rossoneri have very rarely delivered.
It’s difficult, of course. However, it has proven to be costly before and it could do so again. This season, the aims have returned to the Scudetto fight and with large-scale investment from Gerry Cardinale, the pressure is on for the team to deliver.
De Winter’s press conference
There is a saying that pressure makes diamonds, and De Winter is one of those who could be moulded by that pressure this season. Indeed, he is happy to fight for titles as he told the media alongside Ruben Amorim this morning, as MilanNews relayed.
You’ve been here for 7 days, what are your first feelings?
“It was nice to come back and see my teammates and the new players. There’s a new coach, the way of playing has changed a little, but it’s our job to adapt and give our best.”
On the new way of interpreting the defensive line…
“New coach and new way of playing, so we have to adapt and do our best.”
On the team’s ambitions…
“I haven’t been here long, but I think Milan is under pressure to win titles and the league. We’re working towards that, and it’s a great feeling that we’re working towards big goals and that people expect so much from us.”
On his goal for this season…
“For me, the important thing is to help the team in the best way possible and listen to the coach. This is my goal for this season.”
