Koni De Winter has insisted that AC Milan must only continue to focus on themselves after the latest defeat against Napoli.

There is now way of sugar-coating things: Milan’s loss at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona is a damaging one for a couple of reasons. Firstly, second spot has been surrendered to the Partenopei and Inter are now nine points ahead. Secondly, Juventus in fifth are now only six points back.
It’s the second away defeat in a row without scoring and there are certainly worries about the attack, given the 1-0 home loss to Parma on February 22 too. With some big games still to come – including Juve at home – Milan must once again dust themselves off and try to rebound.
After the defeat against Napoli, De Winter spoke to SportMediaset to give his thoughts on a tough night for the team, and MilanNews transcribed what he had to say.
How do you feel the game went?
“The match was very closed, from both teams. There were few chances, and they scored with the ones they had: that was the game. They defended well. We were less fortunate in the incidents, but credit to them anyway.”
Is the focus still on the Champions League?
“As we’ve been doing all year, we’re taking it one game at a time. The season doesn’t end today, we’ll see where we’ve ended up. We need to find balance, moving forward as we’ve done to reach this point in the standings.”
Is six points over fifth place a sufficient margin?
“It’s an advantage, but the way we approach this season is by looking at ourselves.”
