Di Marzio: Milan loanee set to return from England after lack of minutes

AC Milan goalkeeper Devis Vasquez is set to return early from his loan spell with English side Sheffield Wednesday after playing very few games in the Championship.

As has been reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, the Colombian goalkeeper has only played 10 times for the Owls so far this season and he has fallen out of favour as the number one choice.

He started the first nine matches in the Championship after he arrived, conceding 16 goals and keeping one clean sheet, but he has since been replaced and not featured at all.

The 25-year-old clearly will not develop any further at Sheffield Wednesday so Milan are keen to bring him back and find a new loan for the goalkeeper where he can play more regularly.

The talks between Milan and Wednesday are ongoing to terminate the loan in a way that suits both parties, but it is not clear which clubs are in the frame to take him for the second half of the season.

Vasquez arrived at Milan in January 2023 from Guarani in Colombia but failed to force himself into the team, hence the loan to Wednesday in the summer.

There is no need for him at Milan this season with Mike Maignan, Marco Sportiello and Antonio Mirante all favoured.
