Di Marzio: Probable Milan XI to face Real Madrid – trio of new signings in a 4-3-3

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has his starting line-up in mind for the first preseason friendly in the United States against Real Madrid.

According to the latest from Gianluca Di Marzio, the main news is that there will be a formation change from a 4-2-3-1 to a 4-3-3. Marco Sportiello should play in goal, while the defence should be composed from right to left by Davide Calabria, Matteo Gabbia, Fikayo Tomori and Alessandro Florenzi.

Gabbia will still play the friendly against Real Madrid despite being one step away from Villarreal, with the plan being for him to complete the match and then leave the squad.

Rade Krunic will be the deepest midfielder with Ruben Loftus-Cheek on his right and Tommaso Pobega on the left, with new signing Tijjani Reijnders not present.

Finally, in attack, the trio should see the American Christian Pulisic on the left, Junior Messias on the right and Lorenzo Colombo as central striker.

The likes of Rafael Leao, Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez, Pierre Kalulu and Charles De Ketelaere are not available having just returned to training following an extended break due to international commitments.

Probable Milan XI (4-3-3): Sportiello; Calabria, Gabbia, Tomori, Florenzi; Loftus-Cheek, Krunic, Pobega; Messias, Colombo, Pulisic.
