Di Marzio: Probable XIs for PSG vs. Milan – battle of the 4-3-3s

News continues to filter on the eve of the game between PSG and AC Milan about the possible team selections of Luis Enrique and Stefano Pioli.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio’s latest update on PazziDiFanta, PSG – fresh from a 3-0 victory against Strasbourg in the league – is likely to keep 10 of the 11 players who started in the 4-1 Champions League defeat against Newcastle United.

The only probable change from that team should be playing Vitinha in place of Randal Kolo Mouani to add a bit of balance, with Ousmane Dembele as a right winger.

Between the posts will be Gianluigi Donnarumma while Achraf Hakimi and Milan Skriniar – two former Inter players – plus the ex-Roma man Marquinhos and Theo’s brother Lucas Hernandez  in the back four.

In the midfield three, Manuel Ugarte is likely to start in the middle, flanked by Zaire-Emery and Vitina. The front three will probably be Kylian Mbappé, Goncalo Ramos and Dembele.

Milan meanwhile have Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez who missed the last match in the league due to disqualification. Alongside Theo, completing the defensive line will most likely be Davide Calabria, Fikayo Tomori and Malick Thiaw.

However, Di Marzio adds to watch out for the ‘possible Pierre Kalulu surprise’ as the French defender could take Calabria’s place given he has greater speed and physicality to try to contain Mbappé.

Tijjani Reijnders and Yunus Musah are expected to keep their place in midfield alongside Yacine Adli, who however remains in a battle with the returning Rade Krunic.

The attacking trident will almost certainly be made up of Christian Pulisic, Olivier Giroud and Rafael Leao. In attack, the Rossoneri will have to do without the injured Noah Okafor and Samuel Chukwueze.

Probable Milan XI (4-3-3): Maignan; Calabria, Tomori, Thiaw, Theo Hernandez; Reijnders, Adli, Musah; Pulisic, Giroud, Leao.

Probable PSG XI (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Hakimi, Skriniar, Marquinhos, L. Hernandez; Zaire-Emery, Ugarte, Vitinha; Dembele, G. Ramos, Mbappé.
