Donnarumma reveals he is still supporting the Rossoneri: “I would like Milan to be champions”

Gianluigi Donnarumma has revealed that he is rooting for AC Milan to win the Scudetto this season despite the hysteria surrounding his exit.

At the beginning of the summer, Milan parted ways with Donnarumma as the goalkeeper decided not to renew his contract. It was a big blow for the Rossoneri to lose an academy product, but ultimately they acted with the club’s best interests at heart and agent Mino Raiola was asking for a very high amount to sign a new contract.

Donnarumma departed after winning the European Championships with Italy as the best player of the tournament, but he found himself all of a sudden rotating with Keylor Navas in the French capital, something that seems to have affected his performances.

Now, the goalkeeper has given an interview to Sky and was asked specifically about Milan and the fact they are in a title battle, while he also took the opportunity to reveal he still speaks to some of his old team-mates.

“I would like Milan to be champions of Italy. I often hear from my teammates, I wish them to win the Scudetto because they are having a great season and Pioli is working very well,” he said (via MilanNews).
