Fabregas reveals interesting background on failed transfer: “I spoke with Milan”

Cesc Fabregas has revealed that there was a time a few years ago when he could have joined AC Milan, having now finally made a move to Italy.

Fabregas has had an illustrious career and has won almost everything that there is to win during his times with Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea and on the international level with Spain too. He has Premier League, LaLiga, Club World Cup, Europa League and World Cup medals to boast and he was regularly linked with Milan in the mid 2010s.

Speaking at the press conference on the day of his presentation as a new Como played, Fabregas revealed how much he was one step away from wearing the Milan shirt in 2016, with his comments relayed by SempreMilan.it.

“I spoke with Milan in 2016, then with Ivan Gazidis, then for a reason or for another, my arrival in Italy had never materialised,” he said.

For Fabregas, his arrival in Italy has finally come at the age of 35 and after years of being linked with a move to Serie A clubs he will be plying his trade in Serie B, where he will wear the blue shirt of Como.
