Fonseca warns Monza are ‘a strong team’ under Nesta: “They drew against Inter”

On the eve of tonight’s clash between AC Milan and Monza, Paulo Fonseca spoke to MilanTV and praised Alessandro Nesta’s side for ‘well-coached’.

Milan need to bounce back with a strong performance and, above all, three points tonight as the game against Napoli didn’t go to plan. It won’t be easy, though, especially since Monza managed to win this fixture last season and thus have good memories (at U-Power Stadium, that is).

Speaking to MilanTV yesterday, skipping the usual pre-match presser due to the tight schedule, Fonseca was asked about Monza and what he expects from them. He made it clear that Milan cannot afford to underestimate them as they are ‘a strong team’.

“They are a strong team, they drew against Inter. They have quality and are very well-coached. I told the lads it will be a difficult game. We want to win, the team and the players deserve this victory for how they played and how they worked this week,” he stated.

It remains to be seen if Milan will come out on top or not. The predicted starting eleven for the evening suggests that Rafael Leao will be on the bench, with Noah Okafor getting the chance once again on the left flank.
