A journalist has claimed that Giorgio Furlani’s time as the CEO of AC Milan will come to an end sooner rather than later.

Furlani has served as Milan’s Chief Executive Officer officially since around November 2022 after the departure of Ivan Gazidis, though he has been at the club for a few years longer given his previous ties to the then-owners Elliott Management.
Elliott have now left the scene following the full repayment of the vendor loan by the current owners RedBird Capital. This has led to speculation that Furlani could depart too, especially now Massimo Calvelli has entered the scene, someone who has CEO experience with the ATP (tennis). However, there has also been talk that Furlani has secured a new three-year stint.
During an interview with TMW Radio (via Calciomercato.com), the director of Corriere dello Sport – Ivan Zazzaroni – was asked for his thoughts on what could happen at Milan based on the information he has.
On Moise Kean: “I think it’s very complicated, he has a release clause of over €60m and I don’t think there will be a discount. Also because Fiorentina director Fabio Paratici was mocked by Milan: he was the one chosen as sporting director, but then nothing came of it and so Igli Tare arrived.”
On Furlani: “Milan were weak and Furlani went back on his word. I think he’ll soon leave the club. The Elliott fund have exited, and Gerry Cardinale has other ideas. The CEO should be the same as the ATP Finals, Massimo Calvelli. It would also be nice for Tare, given that when Tare isn’t at Milanello, Furlani goes there. That’s the relationship…”
