Official: Matteo Gabbia extends contract with AC Milan until 2026

AC Milan have officially announced that central defender Matteo Gabbia has renewed his contract with the club until 30 June 2026.

Via a statement on the club’s official website, they confirmed that Gabbia has extended his deal beyond the previous deadline of 2024. He joined the Rossoneri at the age of 13 and made his first team debut back in August 2017.

He has made 31 appearances to date, 24 of which were starts, and it is a gesture of faith from the management who have decided to lock him down for another two years, most likely with a pay rise involved too.

The Italy U21 international has been thrust into prominence over the last few weeks given the emergency in the defensive department, when he partnered Pierre Kalulu due to Kjaer, Romagnoli and Tomori all being out. He certainly didn’t majorly disappoint when called upon either, proving himself to be a reliable depth option.
