After naming Giovanni Malagò as the new president of the FIGC, the Italian Football Federation, the next step was to find a technical director. Malagò managed to convince his first choice in the end, namely Paolo Maldini, who was announced yesterday.
The feeling is that the Milan legend was ready to get back in the field after several years of ‘rest’, having left his role with the Rossoneri in the summer of 2023. The national team opportunity, as such, was the perfect solution in many ways.
As said at the start, the ‘yes’ of Maldini was a massive focus for the newspapers this morning.
