AC Milan are expected to have a large budget for the summer transfer window to try and strengthen the team, according to a report.
This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) reports that Milan could invest €100m to strengthen Stefano Pioli’s team, which would come from the budget set aside plus the sum of savings on the salaries of players who will leave and the transfer fees they bring in.
There will not be a huge overhaul in the summer and the 13/14 players who have shown themselves to be of Milan calibre will be built around, with ‘restructuring interventions’ to be carried out so that the reserves offer more guarantees.
For example, Milan are paying out €5.2m gross for Divock Origi’s salary and they believe they could sell him for €7-8m, which would help top up the budget. Sergino Dest and Tiémoué Bakayoko (€5.2m and €4.6m in salaries respectively) will not be bought permanently.
Ante Rebić (€4.5m salary) can leave for around €4-5m in transfer fee. Furthermore, it is unlikely that Aster Vranckx will be bought permanently from Wolfsburg so his €1.9m salary will be saved.
The departures of Ciprian Tătărușanu, Antonio Mirante, Fodé Ballo-Touré, Yacine Adli and Zlatan Ibrahimović are expected too, creating further wiggle room, with Adli expected to depart on loan or even permanently if a big enough bid arrives.
Those outgoing players would result in a saving of about €28m in salaries and another €20m could come from player sales, to which €50m must be added that was going to be made available for the budget regardless.
