GdS: Abraham to start against Venezia as Fonseca rewards quick acclimatisation

Tammy Abraham impressed in his debut for AC Milan, coming off the bench against Lazio and combining with his new teammates on the second goal. Next weekend, we should see the striker from start instead, as a report highlights.

Abraham was the last signing of the 2024 summer mercato, signing the contract on deadline day, but he immediately made an impact as he helped salvage a point against Lazio. It could have been three points, had it not been for a very good save by Ivan Provedel.

In that cameo off the bench, as Gazzetta dello Sports highlights this morning (see photo), Abraham showed exactly what he can give this Milan side. With his movement and ability to combine with the rest of the team, as well as tracking open space, he can be very important for the Rossoneri.

As a result, it looks like he will get the chance from start against Venezia next weekend. He has been working at Milanello this week with his new teammates and Fikayo Tomori has helped him a lot. They have known each other since they were six years old, moving from the Thames to the Naviglio.

Milan never had any concerns about Abraham fitting in, especially since Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic are also in the team, but the effect on the pitch wasn’t expected so early. Now it will be up to the Englishman to continue on this path and complement Alvaro Morata, who has different characteristics.

Abraham already has his eyes set on staying at Milan beyond this season, as the newspaper concludes, but first he must impress on the pitch. Consistently we mean, and not just off the bench every now and then. And at the end of the day, the goals will speak for themselves.
