AC Milan midfielder Lucas Biglia is reportedly hoping to receive a renewal offer from the club having once again found himself at the centre of the club’s plans.
Despite the changes in management at Milan over the last few years, one thing that has remained constant is that all the coaches have valued Biglia.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport note on Tuesday, Gennaro Gattuso referred to the Argentine as a ‘wild’ player who ‘always wants to work’, while Marco Giampaolo often used him over summer signing Ismael Bennacer.
Now Stefano Pioli has arrived on the scene, it is easy to foresee a situation where Biglia will retain a primary role at Milan.
Pioli had the midfielder at Lazio in the season when they finished in third place (2014-15) and even gave him the captaincy after big-money links with a move to Manchester United.
The 33-year-old was linked with a move to Genoa in the summer by a number of outlets but now more focus seems to be on a potential renewal, the paper claims.
Biglia has a deal which expires at the end of the season and earns the second-most out of the current squad in salary terms.
However, the former Anderlecht star still believes he can renew with the Rossoneri amid reports over the summer that he wishes to retire here.
