GdS: Bonaventura’s return has surprised everyone – he is set to start vs. Juventus

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is ready to put his trust in midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura once again ahead of the return Coppa Italia game against Juventus.

Pioli – in addition to all the speculation surrounding his future – will have a number of selection dilemmas to face. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Theo Hernandez and Samu Castillejo are suspended while Leo Duarte and Andrea Conti are expected to miss the game through injury.

According to Wednesday’s paper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Pioli is studying the best formation for the game and the best players to occupy each shape.

Among these, one player who could have a great chance of starting is is Giacomo Bonaventura, as the paper explains that he is among the best at Milanello in terms of physical shape, despite the fact he seems destined to leave the club when his contract ends at the conclusion of the season.

The brilliance with which he has returned to training has surprised everyone, including the coach, and as a result Bonaventura is ahead of Lucas Paquetà in the pecking order at present to start the game in Turin.

In the last ten years only Ibrahimovic has scored more than Jack for Milan and he has already netted a crucial goal against Juventus in the 2016 Doha Super Cup, the last trophy won by the Rossoneri.
