AC Milan have a bit more manoeuvrability in the transfer window after it was ruled that British players do not take up a non-EU spot.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) relay this morning, it was ruled by the FIGC that players with British citizenship are equivalent in all respects to EU players, which could bring a change of strategy for Milan.
Initially it was thought that the change of regulation would be discussed between the council and the CONI council but instead the FIGC acted first, making a very rapid decision that will influence the mercato.
The example to look at is Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Milan used their first non-EU spot for him and thought a lot before using the second slot for Samuel Chukwueze.
Yesterday’s press release equates Loftus-Cheek to EU players and therefore allows Milan to be able to acquire a new non-EU player. It won’t be Mehdi Taremi or Daichi Kamada, who also waited for Milan for a long time.
Milan will most likely bet on a young player and they will do it in August, not immediately. Either way, it gives them more possibilities.
