GdS: How Milan’s squad depth looks after the seven summer additions

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli can call upon a bit more depth in his squad after the summer transfer window closed, a report claims.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have analysed Milan’s squad now the transfer window is shut, starting with the defensive department where the signings of Sergino Dest on deadline day from Barcelona and Malick Thiaw last week from Schalke 04 will provide much-needed cover in the right-back and centre-back roles.

In midfield, the return of Tommaso Pobega from his loan at Torino last season plus the signing of Aster Vranckx on deadline day from Wolfsburg means there are two alternatives for the double pivot.

The playmaker role can boast two new faces in €35m man Charles De Ketelaere who cam from Club Brugge plus Yacine Adli back from his loan at Bordeaux. Finally, Divock Origi will back up Olivier Giroud having signed on a free from Liverpool.
