This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) acknowledges that there are still three league games to play which will decide whether or not Milan will participate in the next edition Champions League.
Only then can concrete assessments be drawn, yet this season has already shown that in the summer the management need to improve the squad with at least six or seven reinforcements.
It is not just a case of addressing depth either, because there are three starting positions which must be improved. Milan need a Kessie-like central midfielder, a new right winger and a centre-forward.
There is a lot of work to do for the directors therefore, but even they might not be trusted with overhauling the squad if the other reports from the paper are anything to go by.
