GdS: Kessie wants salary in line with Ibrahimovic to renew his Milan contract

Franck Kessie’s contract will expire in 2022 and Milan are working hard with his agent to reach an agreement on a renewal. However, the talks are far from easy and the parties are trying to bridge the gap.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, as cited by MilanNews, Kessie has made it clear that he wants to stay at the club despite interest from Premier League. Having said that, his contract demands are also significant.

In order to renew his contract with Milan, he has asked for a salary in line with that of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, which would be €7m per season. The solution to getting this number down a bit could be a medium-term renewal.

Instead of a five-year deal, which was the initial plan of the club, they could settle for a two-year renewal. This would give them more time to handle the situation for the future and keep away the potential suitors for now.
