Romelu Lukaku’s second stint at Chelsea has been quite peculiar thus far, resulting in exit links just eight months after the Stamford Bridge side paid over €100m for the striker. AC Milan isn’t an option, though.

A few days ago, Goal’s reliable Chelsea journalist Nizaar Kinsella reported that Milan could be an option for Lukaku to rescue his career. He mentioned Investcorp’s takeover of the Rossoneri as the key, given the costs of the operation.

However, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), the Lukaku rumours can be shut down immediately. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are set to remain under Investcorp and their project is completely different, eager to focus on young Italians.

The cost of signing Lukaku is also too hefty, while the rivalry between the Belgian striker and Milan hasn’t disappeared given his spell at Inter. Let alone with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who isn’t best friends with Lukaku after their clashes.
