GdS: Maldini and Milan could hijack Inter’s pursuit of Dybala – contacts expected

Paolo Maldini has renewed his contract with AC Milan and work on the market can now begin. The director is keen on reinforcing the team and one of the players on his mind is Paulo Dybala, now a free agent.

The Argentine star has been in talks with city rivals Inter for a long time but the negotiations have seemingly stalled a bit. Milan, therefore, could pounce on the opportunity and express their interest formally.

According to today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanLive), Stefano Pioli wants a world-class playmaker for the attacking trio and Maldini is on the case. In the next few days, he will make a concrete attempt for Dybala, initiating talks with his agent.

Having said that, Dybala would have to settle for a lower salary than the €6m offered by Inter. On the other hand, Milan would be able to close the deal quickly under the right conditions, unlike their rivals.

Milan could also opt for a profile from abroad, such as Asensio, De Ketelaere or Ziyech as the growth decree (tax relief) is still available for a few more days.
