GdS: Milan plot attempt to sign €40m striker in January amid attacking issues

AC Milan are yet to find the back of the net in the Champions League and have experienced struggles on the attacking front in the league as well. Therefore, as a report claims, a striker could arrive in January.

Three games, two points, zero goals and last in the group. The situation is far from ideal for Milan in the big competition and three strong performances will be needed to advance to the knockout stages. Although all of this will take place before January, a reinforcement could arrive then.

Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the Milan directors are well aware of the struggles up front, currently evaluating their options on the market. Lille’s Jonathan David is the primary target and he has a price tag of €40m, as well as a contract expiring in 2025.

Just a few months ago, as the report continues, the French side wanted €60m and Milan are hoping that a further reduction can be obtained. However, it’s clear that a significant investment will be needed in that position to get someone in January,

David has scored four goals so far but last season, he found the back of the net 26 times. The 23-year-old has quality, in other words, and could be the new No.9 for Milan.
