Divock Origi didn’t have a successful first season with AC Milan and as a result, he has been placed on the market. However, the exit is proving to be rather difficult for various reasons.
Milan secured the 28-year-old on a free transfer last summer as his contract with Liverpool expired. However, the striker struggled with a few injuries at the start and that set the tone for the rest of the season.
In 36 appearances, albeit just ten of them from start, Origi found the back of the net two times. Milan are now eager to get him off the wage bill, with a net salary of €4m per year, and have thus placed him on the market.
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), West Ham and Galatasaray have expressed their interest but the transfer is difficult above all for two reasons: 1) Origi’s high salary and 2) his wish to stay at Milan for next season.
Milan have decided not to call him up for the pre-season tour in the United States and perhaps this will force Origi to reflect on his future.
