GdS: Why Milan are hesitant to make move for West Ham striker

AC Milan are working on signing a striker ahead of next season, after the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Gianluca Scamacca is one of their targets. However, the Rossoneri are not sure about him.

Scamacca joined West Ham ahead of this past season but due to injuries, it hasn’t been an easy first year for him. He found the back of the net just eight times in all competitions and he could thus move on loan this summer.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Milan are interested in the former Sassuolo man and have even held talks. However, Marcus Thuram is their main target for the attack and these two players are very different.

Milan are thus evaluating Scamacca from a different perspective, as signing him instead of Thuram would make for a very different Milan. Furthermore, he would arrive on an initial loan and a transfer fee would eventually have to be paid, unlike Thuram who is available on a free transfer.

Scamacca’s poor form must also be added as a factor, even though Milan know what he’s capable of (as shown in Serie A).
