According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), De Ketelaere’s future will have to be assessed once he returns from the U21 European Championships with Belgium which followed the same disappointing theme of the league season.
To date, the management have not changed their mind as the plan remains for the playmaker to stay. However, if offers arrive the club are ready to listen to them.
At least €28m would be needed to avoid a capital loss given the €35m paid out to sign him from Club Brugge a year ago, but a loan with obligation to buy would be evaluated too.
Atalanta are at the window and are admirers of De Ketelaere but it has not gone beyond that yet. If Milan were to open to a loan deal with an option to buy, La Dea would be willing to negotiate.
