GdS: Milan player ratings for Vicenza trashing – five players stand out

Several players impressed as AC Milan added another win to their pre-season tally, with just one week left until the season opener against Udinese. 6-1 was the final score and thus there were a few standouts.

Today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via SempreMilan) took stock of the individual performances in yesterday’s clash vs. Vicenza. The assessment of the newspaper isn’t exactly surprising, given which players scored and bagged assists.

Hernandez, Bennacer, Messias, Rebic and Leao were all given the highest rating (a 7/10) and the Portuguese winger was named the MOTM. Indeed, they combined well throughout the game and were responsible for most of the goals.

Fikayo Tomori is slightly behind with a 6.5 despite his goal in the second half, given that he lost his man on Vicenza’s early strike. The likes of Maignan, Calabria, Kalulu, Tonali, Krunic, Diaz, Saelemaekers and De Ketelaere passed the test and got a 6.

It should also be mentioned that Pioli was given a 7 by the newspaper, making few subs last night and focusing on getting the players ready for the opener. The tactical plan was clearly right despite the early goal, which caught them off guard.
