La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com) report that the objective for RedBird Capital and their main man Gerry Cardinale – the new owner of Milan – is to close new commercial agreements and improve the current ones, in order to ensure that the revenues keep growing.

With this in mind, Cardinale is already at work to exploit and increase Milan’s international appeal through the millions of fans around the world, especially in Southeast Asia and the United States.

The recent visits to London and the famous 40/40 club in New York are an example of this, as is the synergy with the New York Yankees through the YES Network deal and Florenzi posing for photos with the Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone.

In 2020-21 Milan collected €65m from the commercial area, but for 2021-22 an increase is expected to around €70m. The contract with PUMA has been renewed until 2028 at around €30m per season from 2022-23, and the sponsorship agreement with Emirates will be discussed shortly with the target being to at least double the current €14m per year plus bonuses.
