GdS: ‘Not impossible to bridge’ – Milan hoping for Emerson discount

Emerson Milan

AC Milan are desiring a new right-back in the summer mercato, and they have a favourite – Emerson Royal. However, there is currently a discrepancy between the fees that the Rossoneri want to pay and what Tottenham Hotspur want to receive.

Given how many players need to be recruited this summer, Milan must be smart with their finances, and they must seek discounts where available. Of course, this is a risk, but as with everything in life, if you don’t ask, you don’t get.

The Rossoneri are expected to spend heavily on a central defender and a striker, with any further budget being allocated to a defensive midfielder and a right-back, and then any other additions that need to be made.

With this in mind, they are now trying to get the best price possible for their favoured right-back, Emerson Royal. As Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News) writes, Spurs are looking for €20 million for the full-back, a figure that is slightly too high for the Diavolo.

Instead, they are looking to spend a figure of €15-18m and see it as the ideal price range. A nominal difference, but one nonetheless, and Milan will attempt to cross that bridge, with the report suggesting it is ‘not impossible’ to do so.
