GdS: Osti ends up on trial – Pioli’s trusted collaborator for 12 years

AC Milan have had 30 injuries this season and the number continues to rise seemingly with each passing game, causing the finger to be pointed at various potentially responsible figures.

According to what is being reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), the number of physical problems could have previously represented an alibi for Stefano Pioli and his staff, but now it has become an aggravating circumstance.

In particular, Matteo Osti – the AC Milan athletic trainer – is in the dock. Born in 1971, originally from Ostiglia, in the province of Mantua, Osti took care of the athletic preparation of Chievo in Serie A in 2010, then of Palermo.

His collaboration with Stefano Pioli began at Bologna in 2011 and continued at Lazio, Inter, Fiorentina and Milan. After the endless series of injuries he is on trial, with a growing portion of the fan base making it clear on social media they they believe he is to blame.

Pioli commented on the issue: “The situation is complex, honestly there are many. It is a problem that we must try to resolve quickly but which certainly sees us in difficulty at the moment.

“We are putting everything we have into it in terms of collective and individual preparation, prevention and treatment. We have been working together for a long time and there are many of us working at Milanello but at the moment what we do is not giving us the results we hoped to achieve.”

The other information online about Osti reminds us of him as the winner of the title of best trainer of 2021-22, the year of the Rossoneri’s Scudetto. He was awarded with the Golden Chronometer after a vote by his own colleagues. Today it seems like a distant memory.
