GdS: Shakhtar winger the perfect profile for Pioli and Elliott Management – the situation

AC Milan’s attacking targets have taken on a decidedly Brazilian flavour as the management have set their sights on Tete of Shakhtar Donetsk, a report claims.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan are targeting Mateus Cardoso Lemos Martins – known as Tete – in addition to Kaio Jorge of Santos. He plays mainly as a right winger for Skakhtar Donetsk and Milan have wanted the 21-year-old since last year, without making a concrete move as they would have gone over the non-EU threshold.

Tete is not a priority for the Rossoneri at the moment because the squad available to Pioli needed to be adjusted. A central attacking midfielder is of greater urgency, as is another midfielder and a deputy right-back, while a young centre-forward is above a right winger at this stage.

Tete is a perfect profile for Elliott’s project: 21 years old, a not very high salary and excellent potential to grow. If Roberto De Zerbi were to have a Berardi-esque impact on him at Shakhtar then he could really turn into an excellent player.

He has a characteristic that Pioli looks for too as he is able to beat a man with the dribble, creating numerical superiority against closed defences. Now, we wait and see if the dynamic changes.
