GdS: Young players and low wages – Milan’s transfer strategy is clear

Now that some time has passed since the closure of the transfer window, it’s the perfect opportunity to analyse AC Milan’s choices. Two key factors emerge when doing so, as a report highlights.

The Rossoneri’s summer was quite special, starting with the renewals of Maldini and Massara, and ending with the takeover of RedBird Capital. In the end, Milan strengthened where they needed to and managed to escape the worst criticisms.

As reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan’s transfer strategy this past summer and for the future is clear: young players with low wages. Divock Origi was the only ‘experience’ signing, even though Charles De Ketelaere wasn’t cheap.

We have seen it in the past as well, that is mixing youth with a few signings for experience (Kalulu, Tonali, Maignan, Giroud etc). But the overall strategy of the club remains the same: they want to have a young squad and increase the value of their players.
